EWSRC Media is a weekly publication. Each issue is one piece of original analysis — written and briefed by the principal — on how nation-state capability develops, moves across infrastructure sectors, and reaches the systems that societies depend on. It is not a news feed and not a vendor blog. It is the same open-source, cross-sector method that underwrites the research library, applied to the week ahead.
What it covers
The remit is deliberately narrow: nation-state cyber operations, critical and communications infrastructure, grey-zone activity below the threshold of open conflict, emerging technology, and the Indo-Pacific as the proving ground where much of this is rehearsed first. Where a development sits between those categories — which is usually where the most important signals are — that is exactly where we want to be.
How we handle evidence
Every issue works from open and attributable material, cross-referenced against The Observatory, the cross-sector incident record EWSRC maintains. We separate three things on the page and never let them blur: what is confirmed, what is assessed, and what is inferred. Confidence language is used deliberately, and where the evidence has reporting, attribution or coverage limitations, we say so rather than manufacture certainty.
The cadence
One substantive analysis per week, plus a short scan of the developments worth watching and a recurring data note drawn from The Observatory. Publication frequency is never a substitute for quality: if a week does not produce something worth a reader’s time, we would rather say less. Nothing here represents any outside employer, client or member organization, and no classified material informs EWSRC work.
If you want this method aimed at a specific institutional question rather than the public record, EWSRC accepts a small number of research commissions.
